ABOUT US
In 1979, Paul and Judy Schuchman moved to the Poconos from Long Island, New York to semi-retire and raise their family. On March 10, 1984 the two opened their first (1,500 square foot) Odd-Lot Outlet store on Ann Street in Stroudsburg. In the late 1980’s they expanded their business and moved to a larger location in Marshalls Creek, a 3,000 square foot building next to Alaska Pete’s restaurant.

In 1989, Ken Schuchman, Judy and Paul’s son joined the family business and began overseeing the daily operations and upcoming expansion of the Odd-Lot Outlet. Business really took off and in 2000 the Odd-Lot Outlet moved to its current location in Marshalls Creek, next to Dairy Queen into a 25,000 square foot superstore.

On November 30, 2004 an amendment became effective in Pennsylvania allowing non-residential consumers to purchase Consumer Fireworks from a facility that is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (Title 35, Chapter 13A, Section 1275). However, this law prohibits the sale of these fireworks to Pennsylvania residents without proper permits. In 2005, the Odd-Lot Outlet jumped on this opportunity and opened their Fireworks Outlet located in the parking lot alongside the Marshalls Creek Odd-Lot Outlet. With much success, the Odd-Lot Outlet opened a Fireworks Outlet on Rt. 611 in 2006 and they opened second Odd-Lot Outlet next door in 2008.
